Clean Cities is the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) flagship alternative-transportation deployment initiative, sponsored by the Vehicle Technologies Program. The State of Maryland Clean Cities coalition works with vehicle fleets, fuel providers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to reduce petroleum use in transportation. The National Biodiesel Accreditation Program is a cooperative and voluntary program for the accreditation of producers and marketers of biodiesel fuel called BQ-9000®. The program is a unique combination of the ASTM standard for biodiesel, ASTM D6751, and a quality systems program that includes storage, sampling, testing, blending, shipping, distribution, and fuel management practices.BQ-9000® is open to any biodiesel manufacturer, marketer or distributor of biodiesel and biodiesel blends in the United States and Canada.
Jill Hamilton, SESI President, visits Capitol Hill with Transportation Energy Partners (TEP). TEP is a national non-profit organization that brings Clean Cities coalition leaders together with the clean transportation industry to advance policies that will reduce American dependence on petroleum-based fuels.
Hill visits centered on increased funding for Clean Cities Coalitions, DERA grants and DOT CMAQ funding. They asked leaders to continue supporting Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and asked for a five year extension on infrastructure tax credit.
This station is part of the USDA Biofuel Infrastructure Project Grant (USDA BIP Grant), totaling 9.1 million investments to install ethanol refueling infrastructure in Virginia and Maryland. To date, cleaner ethanol fuels have already displaced enough gasoline to cut greenhouse gas emissions by the equivalent of planting 54,319 trees and letting them grow for ten years.
